Невеличке оповіданняМені чомусь зовсім не сподобалась його усмішка. Вона була занадто вже теплою, занадто рідною, від якої хочеться розпрямити крила і полетіти до цього клятого сонця, щоб згоріти у вогні кохання.
Безглуздо. Як же все це безглуздо.
Він просто з мене кепкує, дивлячись своїми жовтими, немов у кішки, очима й посміхаючись цією дивною посмішкою.
Навіщо ти так робиш, якщо не кохаєш мене?
- Чого вирячився? – спитала я, відводячи погляд до вікна, за яким туди-сюди снували люди, що поспішали кожний по своїм справам.
- Та от дивлюся на тебе й думаю, що ця зачіска дуже тобі пасує, - відповів він. І я знала, що він продовжує посміхатися, розмішуючи свою каву, в якій навіть не було ніякого відображення.
Як же це безглуздо.
- Дякую, - буркнула я, все ще дивлячись у вікно. Люди. Мене вони завжди заспокоювали одним своїм існуванням. Чому так? Не знаю. Просто люблю людей.
Як і цього покидька, якого кохаю всім серцем, але ні за що не скажу йому про це.
Таких, як він просто не може буті. Зовнішність, звісно, не аби яка, але манери, внутрішній світ. Принц, про якого так мріють багато дівчаток у ніжному віці. А потім вони забувають про свої мрії і починають думати о грошах, дієтах, світі, що одягнути завтра, та який у хлопця розмір і наскільки це впливає на насолоду. Просто думають, що таких принців не існує. Зазвичай, коли мої думки про оцих дівчаток доходять до цієї межі, мені стає сумно. Але все одно я люблю людей. І цього принца, який ані скільки не змінився за сто п’ятдесят два роки нашого звичайного життя. Можна навіть сказати, нашого більш близького знайомства. Веселий, розумний, готовий прийти на допомогу будь якої миті, трохи дивакуватий.
Авжеж, навіть у такої мрії є свої вади, які б злякали багатьох людей, але вони все одно йому непотрібні. В цьому ми дуже різні, але в той же час доповнюємо один одного. Наче якась там ідеальна пара. Садист та мазохіст, якщо бути точніше і простіше.
Просто два забуті боги, які змогли не загубитися у цьому самому забутті і живуть далі лише вдвох, хапаючись один за одного.
Іноді я думала, що ми лише парадокс. Лише чиясь вивернута навиворіт мрія про сім’ю. Цікаво, якому б малюку сподобався отакий батько та отака мати? Дуже вже наївному. Який буде закривати очі на всі дурниці своїх батьків, аби вони всі були разом.
- Ти сьогодні вже зовсім замислилася.
Я здригнулася від його голосу, забула про власну безпеку и зазирнула в жовти котячі очі, в яких ледве не потонула. Богиня, навіть колишня, не має права померти так безглуздо. Ця думка допомогла мені протверезіти і перевести погляд на свою тарілку з надкушеним шматком хліба та захололою яєчнею.
- А тобі що, заздрісно? – спитала я, мало не випускаючи кігті. Не той час і не те місце. – Допивай свою кляту каву і ходімо вже. Камені життя десь поблизу. Не знаю як ти, а я все ж хочу повернути свою стару велич.
- А ти не хотіла б дитину від мене? – несподівано запитав цей клятий виродок, після чого одним ковтком допив свою каву.
Я застигла лише на секунду, а потім з ненавистю схопила хліб і відтяла від нього більше половини.
Хочу, звісно хочу, коханий. Я була б дуже щаслива, якби в нас з’явилася дитина. А, може, навіть дві. Тоді можна було б забути за ці камені і просто жити отією вивернутою мрією про сім’ю.
- Та пішов ти, клятий виродку, - відмовила я, ковтаючи майже не пережований шматок. – Якщо я від тебе чогось і хочу, то лише позбутися твоєї нахабної пики!
А він продовжував посміхатися, читаючи по душі, а не слухаючи вухами.
